Summary: Shuichi’s weird moment at work turns out to be more significant than he thought, especially considering his most hard-won relationship.

Notes: Part of my motivation for writing this story was to explore the idea of Yuki making a significant effort to change and open up after accepting that Shuichi is in his life to stay. I’ve seen it assumed in a lot of fics that even years after they’d still be stuck in the same patterns we see in the anime, and I just think once they were both committed to being together, there’d be a lot of changes. What my brain produced in response to those thoughts had too many good moments to throw away. It also has strangely divided chapters and sort of undermines canon-plot in some ways, but it was an interesting experiment. Mostly here for personal reference, though.
